Convert Excel to PDF online, free

Excel to PDF turns .xls, .xlsx, .xlsm and .csv files into a paginated document anyone can open without a spreadsheet application. Recipients see values rather than your formulas, and cannot resort or overwrite the numbers. The converter does not recalculate the workbook: it renders the values stored when the file was last saved. Column widths, number and date formats, merged cells and worksheet order are carried through. Your file is uploaded to PDF Vision's servers for conversion; the public converter accepts up to 15 MB, and the first conversion each day requires no account.

How to convert Excel to PDF

  2. Run the conversion

    The sheet is rendered with its formatting and paginated; each formula is replaced by the value stored at your last save, since the converter does not recalculate.

A shared .xlsx invites accidental edits, re-sorting and broken references. A PDF fixes the numbers you signed off on, which is what clients, auditors and lenders usually want to receive.

Formulas stay private

The PDF carries results only, so pricing logic, commission rates and the calculation chain behind a total do not ship with the file you send out.

CSV becomes readable

A raw .csv opens as unaligned comma-separated text in most viewers. Converting it produces a laid-out table with column boundaries and headers you can print or attach to an email.

Frequently asked questions

Is Excel to PDF free?
Yes. Each visitor gets one free spreadsheet conversion per day, download included, without signing up. Beyond that, a free account allows 3 conversions a day on this tool — a larger allowance rather than an unlimited one, and the other PDF Vision tools have their own daily counts.
Can I convert a CSV file?
Yes — CSV sits alongside XLS, XLSX and XLSM. Save the file as UTF-8 if it holds accented or non-Latin characters, otherwise they can arrive in the PDF as question marks or garbled symbols.
Are formulas exported, or only their results?
Only the results — and specifically the values stored when the workbook was last saved, since the converter does not recalculate. If the workbook depends on external links or volatile functions, refresh it in Excel and save before uploading so the values you send are current.
My table is cut off or spread over too many pages. What can I do?
Set the print area, page orientation and scale-to-fit in Excel, save the workbook, then convert again — the page setup stored inside the file is what drives how the sheet is paginated.
Does my spreadsheet leave my device?
Yes. Spreadsheet conversion is server-side, so the file is uploaded to PDF Vision to be processed. Browser-only tools such as Merge PDF, Split PDF and Watermark PDF never transmit your document anywhere.
How large can the spreadsheet be?
Up to 15 MB on the public converter. Spreadsheets rarely reach that unless they embed charts, images or years of history; copying just the sheet you need into a fresh workbook brings the size well under the limit.
